Passport Renewal by mail

I'm so glad to hear from a Pinay friend that I could renew my Philippine passport by mail. She just called the Philippine Embassy and was told that it's fine to just mail the application by mail. Just recently the Philippine Embassy has announced that passport renewal has to be done in person which means that you have to go to the Philippine Embassy according to your area of jurisdiction to have your passport renewed. Since I live here in Colorado, I have to go to San Francisco, California to renew it. That's too way expensive to travel but I'm glad to hear the good news that they give considerations to those Filipinos who live far and don't need to appear personally to renew their passports.
