Great News from the US Immigration

When I checked my email last night after I got home from work. I received an email notification from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) regarding my status on my I-751 (Removing of Condition as Permanent Resident) application  that they have ordered a production of my new "Green Card" which means that it will be a 10 year permanent residence card tell me if that isn't a great news!

After reading the email, I went to the USCIS website  to check my case status online and this is what it said;

On October 2, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a green card) or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, refugee travel documents or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Hubby's passion

Hubby loves bicycle and that is one of his passions. It has been four years since hubby sold his bike and from then on he has been wanting to have another bike.  He keeps telling me that he would get one in the future when he can afford. I told him if I got a job I would save and buy him a motorcycle. He got so excited about what I told him. When he sold his bike, he sold also his helmet, motorcycle jackets and other bike accessories. So, for sure he would like to have a complete accessories for his bike riding. I can get these items online at ridegear.com which is a member of the Cruiser Customizing Inc.

Biometric

Just did my biometric (fingerprinting) for my green card renewal yesterday. Hopefully it won't take long for my application and won't undergo interview to get approved. A friend of mine got her 10 year green card without any interview and was approved in less than three months which was really quick. So, I'm hoping that mine will be processed quickly too.

Update on my I-751 Application

It's been awhile that I haven't updated this blog. I have been very busy now that I have my baby. Just an update about my I-751 ( Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence) application since my 2 year Green Card expired July 11, 2009. I got a Notice of Action letter in the mail June 26, 2009 from USCIS informing me that they have received my application. The said letter also served as a one year extension of my Green Card. I also got another letter the other day August 22nd which contained the date of my Biometric (finger printing) schedule which will be on September 1, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. here in Grand Junction.

Humming bird feeders

The other week, we visited hubby’s brother and his family in Delta. It was a good visit, hubby’s brother was busy gardening in their front yard. His children were so excited to show me their humming bird feeders that were hanging outside their house. I told them they got the best humming bird feeders surely humming birds would love to hang out. I was thinking about putting up bird feeders for humming birds in our backyard since I often see them every now and then. Will probably check for good humming bird feeders online and see if there is one that I would like.

Removal of Condition

Finally, I am able to send out my I-751 application to Remove Conditional Status as Permanent Resident last June 13, 2009. Last Saturday I got a letter from the Department of Homeland Security - US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) telling me that they got my application on June 19th. The letter I got also served as a Receipt Notice and served as an extension of my conditional resident status for one year. Hopefully, it won't take long to receive the approval notice from them and be able to get my 10 year Green Card.

Pregnancy Update

I'm on my 27 weeks and 4 days of my pregnancy. Things are doing well so far except for some discomforts that I am feeling like back pains. My tummy has gotten bigger and bigger each day. Just had my Glucose challenge screening test for Gestational diabetes and the result was ok. My blood sugar level is normal and I am happy to know about that. My baby is very active inside my tummy. I always feel him move around, kicking, punching and squirming like almost all the time. Days are passing by so fast, I only have less than 13 weeks and I able to see my baby. Hubby and I are so excited.

Letter from US Immigration

I just got a mail from the Department of Homeland Security - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) informing me that my 2 year Conditional Permanent Resident will expire this July 11, 2009 and that I need to file Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. Although I am already aware of this and I am planning to file my petition by April since USCIS requires everyone who is holding 2 year conditional permanent resident card must file their Petition to Remove Conditions within 90 days before their permanent resident card expires. If someone fails to do so it will result to automatic termination of status. "This I don't want to happen, or I will be deported" lol! Hubby keep on telling me to make sure that all the necessary papers and documents will be submitted as soon as April 11, 2009 because that's the start of my 90 days period before my Green card expires on July 11th. Hopefully, I will be able to get my 10 year Green Card after the I-751 Petition processing is done.

Credit repair solutions

Since the economy is down and a lot of people have lost their jobs if not some have cut back on their working hours which at some point lead to a big change in their take home pay. With all of these many are having a hard time coping up with all their monthly payments and bills. A lot of people have lost their homes and some are on their way to home foreclosures. I heard that if you are delinquent with your mortgage payments and eventually your property is in foreclosure that would affect your credit score badly and they say that it will take time to fix your credit and it will also take seven years to be able to get another home mortgage.

Top " happiness" states

by Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Looking for happiness — it's family-friendly communities for some, tropical paradise or the rugged West for others. A survey of Americans' well-being, conducted by Gallup in partnership with Healthways and America's Health Insurance Plans, gives high marks to Utah, which boasts lots of outdoor recreation for its youthful population.

Speaking of outdoor recreation, the islands of Hawaii took second place and Wyoming was third in the poll that rated such variables as mental, physical and economic health.

But fun outdoors obviously wasn't the only criteria — "wild, wonderful" West Virginia was ranked last among the states.

And the bluegrass state of Kentucky was 49th, with Mississippi 48th on the list.

In general, highest well-being scores came from states in the West while the lowest were concentrated in the South. The happiest congressional districts were some of the wealthiest, while the lowest scores came in some of the poorest.

Travel Tips: Airline carry-on baggage

This is a simplified guide to airline baggage and airport security regulation

will help you pack without fear for your next big trip. Below, you'll find the airport security regulations that you'll need to know when checking your luggage and airline carry-on baggage. Also, be sure that you and your travel agent check for the most updated information for your airline as well as the Travel Security Administration (TSA).

Know the 3-1-1 for Airline Carry-On Baggage

This is the easy formula for airline carry-on baggage established by TSA that mandates that you can only carry liquids, aerosols and gels in three-ounce containers, which should be safely kept inside a one-quart, plastic zip-top bag. This includes common items such as toothpaste, shampoo and food. You should be aware that airline carry-on baggage extends to gift or special items including lotions, creams, scented oils, liquid soaps, perfumes and even snow globes.

The only exception to this carry-on baggage rule
is if you have baby food, medications (and associated injectors) or other liquid/gel items that are for health purposes. In order to have these containers permitted, you need to declare them to an airport security officer and have them screened at the checkpoint. It's highly recommended that you label medications to make this process smoother.

Daylight Savings Time

I couldn't go back to sleep after I went to the bathroom at 12 mn. I stayed in bed for 2 hours tossing left and right and felt my baby moving around the whole time. Then, I felt hungry so I got up from bed and ate a bowl of cereal and drank a whole glass of water. I was eating my cereal infront of my laptop browsing other blogs and looked at the time on my laptop and showed it was already past 3 am. I got up and went to the kitchen but was wondering why the time in our microwave clock doesn't match with the time in my laptop as well as my celphone when I check it. Then I just remember that the time has changed to an hour ahead. It's Daylight Savings Time!

So guys make sure you set your time an hour ahead coz Daylight Saving Time just started March 8 at 2 am just incase you forgot.

Got some snow today

When I woke up this morning I was surprised to see some snow on hubby's truck and on my car too. It did snow probably at the crack of dawn, lol. Then after couple of hours big flakes of snow started to fall on the ground again but didn't last long and they melted away. We have a cold weather today, hubby turned on the heater back to keep us warm in the house. Hopefully, it will be the last snowfall as spring is coming on it's way soon.

Seven Best Part -Time Jobs

If you are thinking about working some part time job on the side. Consider these seven best part-time jobs according to MainStreet.com.

1. Tax Preparer
Thousands of people need help every year to file their returns. Part-time tax preparers are often accountants who know their way around deductions and forms, and who want extra income. Though the job typically peaks in the spring, many clients choose to retain their tax professional as a year-round personal accountant and adviser.
Salary: Set your own fee. H&R Block typically charges anywhere from $100 to $200 for their services, so you can probably charge up to $80 and still offer a bargain.

2. Substitute Teacher
Many states offer substitute teaching positions without requiring a teaching degree. Often, anyone with a bachelor’s degree is eligible, provided they pass a background check and interview. The length of employment varies and you should be flexible for days when you get a frantic last-minute call at 6 a.m., but it’s a good way to put your education to use while aiding in the education of others.
Salary: Varies depending on the state. In Oregon, for example, substitutes get about $150 a day.

3. Private Tutor
Jeremiah LeBrash started tutoring in college as a way to make some extra income. He’s now making enough money for it to be his full-time job. “I started out teaching SAT prep for Kaplan, but I was only making $20 an hour,” he says. “I realized I could do it on my own, give my students one-on-one attention, and charge twice as much.” LeBrash now charges $80 an hour for test preparation and $60 for general math and science help.
Salary: Companies like Kaplan and The Princeton Review pay tutors anywhere from $20 to $60 an hour, depending on the test they teach and the size of the class. Private tutors, like LeBrash, can set their own fee.

4. Part-Time Receptionist
Answering telephones and receiving packages may not be the most glamorous job, but according to career counselor Judith Gerberg, it’s a great opportunity to network. Gerberg, president of the Career Counselors Consortium, knew a laid off radio DJ who ended up working as a receptionist for a law firm. She soon became acquainted with a filmmaker client who loved her music knowledge so much, he hired her as an associate producer. “Lawyers and small businesses always need administrative help,” says Gerberg. “You might be making minimum wage, but keep your ego under wraps. You never know who will walk through the door.”
Salary: Varies, but can be in the $20,000-a-year range.

5. Computer Technician
Gerberg says there is an increased need for tech support, as more people move their businesses home. Computer technicians make basic repairs, set up wi-fi and perform other jobs. Companies are also looking for individuals who can build websites, which makes this a no-brainer for anyone with a little creativity and HTML experience.
Salary: Set your own fee. Tech support rates vary according to the job, rates can be around $30 an hour or more.

6. Copy Editor
“Copy editing is proofreading,” says Rachel Goldman, who took her skills honed in her day job as an online news producer and used them to score part-time work as well. In addition to checking texts for spelling, punctuation, grammar and formatting errors, "I also help the person brainstorm and flesh out their work,” says Goldman. Although she started out editing essays for college students, Goldman is now working on documents such as patent applications and television scripts as well.
Salary: Goldman’s fees vary based on length and subject matter, but she estimates that she makes about $100 per document.

7. Direct Seller
Companies such as Amway and Avon allow people to make money on their own time, while offering incentive programs like discounted insurance. And while the recession may have curbed consumer spending, Avon recently reported earnings that were above expectations. “Our products are selling well because it’s affordable luxury,” says Lindsay Blaker, an Avon spokesperson.
Salary: Blaker says she’s seen reps make anywhere from a few hundred dollars a month to six-figure annual salaries. “I met someone who went from a corporate setting to becoming a full-time seller because she was making just as much money staying at home,” she says. “People love the flexibility of the job.

On walkin tubs

The first time I saw a walkin tub was when I did my CNA clinical at a facility for brain insured clients. It is surely the safest and most comfortable way for residents to take their baths and also a better way for CNA's and personal care providers to assist them in a safe manner. When I saw it, I said to myself wow it’s nice to have that kind of tub in the house too. Walkin tubs are safe, easy, convenient and therapeutic as well. They are mostly used in nursing homes and other assisted living facilities. If you have an elderly family members that needs special care having a walkin tub at home will be nice too. You can check these walkin tubs at www.remainactive.com.

Free Insurance Quotes

Hubby is thinking about transferring to another insurance company for our vehicles because couple of months ago our monthly auto insurance payments just went up by almost a hundred dollars. Hubby was so shocked when he found out that I paid more than what we usually pay for our auto insurance. He called our insurance agent and told us it’s because of some changes in our insurance policy. Hubby did some searching over the internet hoping he could find websites that offer free insurance quotes so he could find out which insurance company offers the cheapest quotes. He found some online insurance quotes for sure but still looking for something else that would satisfy what he was looking for.
One site that got his attention is Quote Scout that provides free auto insurance quotes which have helped and assisted a lot of consumers and businesses in their search for free auto insurance quotes since 1996. Hubby liked the idea on how quick and easy it is to get free insurance quotes on this site.
So if you are looking for the best insurance company whether for your home, auto, health and other kind of insurance try shopping for free online insurance quotes first and find out which one is the best and the cheapest through www.quotescout.com.

Pancit Canton for dinner

I was so hungry earlier and thought of cooking pancit canton for dinner. I asked hubby if he would like pancit canton for dinner but he said "nah" but I went ahead and cooked it anyway. By the time, I'm about to eat dinner he came to the kitchen and got some pancit for himself. Then he said, my pancit canton taste good. Hmmm, maybe he was just trying to be nice. Ha,ha, he always appreciates every meal I cook. Anyways, just done dinner and I am so full right now. My big tummy feels so tight and I could feel my little boy moving around inside. He probably liked rice and pancit canton too. lol....

Associated Training Services

Millions of Americans have lost their jobs as the economy continues to fall. Even hubby’s company is greatly affected that it made all it’s employees cut back their work into 40 hours a week and not allowing everyone to get any more overtime. It’s sad to know that a lot of people today earned less than half of what they used to earn and what’s more sad is that those who have lost their jobs and can’t find any place to work. Well, hopefully things will work out best for every American as President Obama’s economic recovery plan is on it’s way. Part of President Obama’s recovery plan is focused on education, healthcare, energy and construction projects which he said will fuel the economy. Maybe, changing careers will be the best thing to do to accommodate the demands of the job market this coming year as the President’s plan takes effect. Since construction projects will be in demand in the coming year why not consider going into construction equipment operator training program and become a heavy equipment operator. ATS or Associated Training Services offers such training. It is America’s largest heavy equipment operator training school. To find out more about ATS visit www.equipment-school.com.

Tax Filing

I'm glad that hubby and I were able to file our taxes yesterday through H&R block. Though it cost us more than $400 for the service but it's worth it since we get more refund this year than last year. It will take 8 to 12 days for the check to come in the mail. Hubby and I already agreed to save the money we get from our refunds.

Passport Renewal by mail

I'm so glad to hear from a Pinay friend that I could renew my Philippine passport by mail. She just called the Philippine Embassy and was told that it's fine to just mail the application by mail. Just recently the Philippine Embassy has announced that passport renewal has to be done in person which means that you have to go to the Philippine Embassy according to your area of jurisdiction to have your passport renewed. Since I live here in Colorado, I have to go to San Francisco, California to renew it. That's too way expensive to travel but I'm glad to hear the good news that they give considerations to those Filipinos who live far and don't need to appear personally to renew their passports.

It snowed until this noon and we got like 2 inches but it started melting right away since the sun came out this afternoon. Hopefully, that would be the last snow fall. I'm all ready for Springtime.

Misua and sardines

Just had Misua and sardines, rice and a piece of banana for lunch. I am so full, I feel my tummy is so tight right now. I could hardly breath, ha,ha,... I'm sure my little boy is very happy inside my tummy that mommy is feeding him good. He is getting more and more active and I think that his legs and arms are getting stronger each day because I could feel more when he starts moving around inside my tummy.

Hubby's Constant Reminder

When hubby came home from work today, he asked me if I unlocked the door for him because it wasn't locked when he got home. I told him nope, I didn't. It's one of the children who left the house and didn't lock the house and I forgot to check if it was locked. He reminded me again to always lock the all doors at all times to keep me safe since I'm always alone in the house all day. He also said to never open the door for anybody that I don't know except for the mailman who delivers packages. Hubby is always protective that way and sometimes I am just being lax especially on keeping the doors lock at all times.

Cat supplies at suppliesjust4 pets.com

Tiger our orange tabby cat is such a brat, she sleeps with us in our bedroom and hubby has been complaining about her shedding hair. I was thinking about if there’s a way how we can control her hair from falling off into the bed sheets. I was checking over the internet for pet supplies and came across with www.suppliesjust4pets.com and found this anti shedding comb I think what Tiger really needs to minimize her shedding winter coat. I can also use it for Bandit our brat dog as well coz he sheds a lot too especially during this winter time. This website carries a wide variety of dog and cat supplies. They offer free shipping on all orders over $75 and a fast shipping too. So if you are looking for pet supplies just check the website.

Renewing my Philippine Passport

Hubby mentioned earlier to me that I need to keep my Philippine passport updated since it's going to expire this May 2009. The Philippine embassy here in the US have came up with a new policy that getting a Philippine passport or renewing passport needs to be done personally which means I have to travel from Colorado to California just to renew my passport. So hubby told me that we will have to plan the trip soon before my tummy gets bigger or else it's going to be hard to travel then.

Chat with Mama and Papa

Just done chatting with mama and papa while hubby and the children watched the superbowl game of T.V. I'm glad to know that my parents are doing fine. They got worried about me because they haven't heard from me for almost a month. I always call then by phone once a month but I haven't called them last month because I'm trying to cut back in my long distance call to the Philippines. I usually call them direct from our home phone and it cost more than just using a phone card. So, I told them I will call them once I get a phone card.

My Journey to Momhood blog

My Journey to Momhood blog is working fine now, finally able to get accessed to that blog. I didn't do anything it just fixed itself. I'm glad that it worked ok and I was able to resubmit the opp that I posted earlier. There's a lot of available opps but most of them only pay so low and I guess a lot of bloggers just ignored those opps including myself. Though I took some of it but only those opp that require 25 or 50 words per post at $2.00 - $2.50 and 100 words at $5.00 which I guess are much better than nothing.

Valentine's gift for hubby

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, though it’s still too early to think about it but I know time flies by so quickly. I have to think of something on what to give hubby for valentine’s day gift. I usually give him a card but I would like to give him something that he will like aside from the card. I have been checking online for a valentine gift and found nice Bulova watches at www.bluedial.com. I like the style in the photo above because hubby likes diamonds and it has a lot of diamonds around it. There are more styles and brands of time pieces at blue dial.com. So if you are thinking of giving watch as your valentine gift for your beloved husband or wife just check the website

Baby's movement

I have felt my baby's movement quiet often at the start of my second trimester. I usually felt subtle kicks inside my tummy but haven't felt it yet when I touch my tummy. This morning, I tried to take a nap but couldn't sleep while I was laying down in bed I felt something moving in my tummy and so I touch my tummy and for the first time my hand felt my baby's movement as I gently press my hand against my lower abdomen. It felt so good to know that I'm carrying a live human being inside my tummy. To me it is such a great fulfillment as a woman and a great blessing from God.

Avocado for dinner

My dinner for tonight was 2 pieces of avocado mixed with milk, a little sugar and crashed saltine crackers. That's how we usually prepare avocado in the Philippines and mostly it's for dessert but tonight I had it for dinner. I put it in the fridge for 15 minutes to chill it before I ate it. It was really good.

Acne Complex that works best

I always envy women with flawless skin. I admire those who have a very clear skin especially on their face. I always get pimples every now and then and have tried many kinds of facial wash, pimple soap and even acne treatment but still I keep breaking out. Now that I’m pregnant it is getting worse and my pimples are coming out more on my neck. I guess it’s because my hormones are going crazy due to my pregnancy. I told hubby that after I gave birth I have to see a dermatologist and have it checked so I could get pimple or acne treatment then.

I heard that there is an Acne Complex that works effectively to get a clear skin and it’s called Murad Acne Complex which promises to give you clear skin in just 4 weeks. Sounds interesting isn’t it? Maybe I should try this after my pregnancy.

Selling our house

We finally able to put our house for sale through Bray Real Estate. By the time hubby found out that his hours at work were cut to 40 hrs a week with no more overtime. We decided to sell the house because we know we couldn't afford our mortgage payments anymore since he only makes less than half of what he used to earn. This is one of the trying times and we know that we are not the only ones who experience this. We are thankful to God that hubby still has his job until now. We might be moving to another place within 6 months but it will still be here in Grand Junction since we cannot move to another State because he has the 50-50 custody of his children and we can't leave until they reach 18 yrs. old.

So, that's why I haven't updated my blog for weeks because we got busy cleaning up the house and packing things up, donating a lot of stuffs that we don't need to Goodwill. Just making everything ready when we move to a new place.

Finding the right man to be your companion and lifetime partner takes patience and prayers too me. I feel so blessed that I found someone who really cares and loves me so much. We met on a dating website way back in December 2005 after a couple of months communicating through emails, chatting and phone we met personally in the Philippines got engaged and then got married after 11 months of visa processing. Bad news

Hubby and I knew this is going to happen at some point with today's economic situation. Hubby went home early from work yesterday because they were told by their boss that they are cutting their hours at work. Hubby use to work 12 hrs each day and with these he use to get a lot of hours working overtime. Well yesterday, the management told them that starting yesterday they will only work 40 hours a week which means there will be no overtime pay. That was indeed a bad news for everybody at hubby's work. If he works 40 hours a week his pay check will only be less than a half of what he usually take home. It's really hard how we can cope up with all the monthly bills that we have to pay not to mention our mortgage. I know a lot of people loss their jobs, hubby told me yesterday that he is lucky he still has the job. It's hard to find another job when a lot of companies are closing and a lot of workers been laid off from their jobs.

Crying in my dream

Everyday I usually wake up as early as 3 or 4 in the morning to help hubby prepare for his work. Then, I go back to sleep when hubby leaves. This morning when I went back to sleep I dreamed of something which I couldn't recall the details what it was all about. All I can remember is that I was talking to one of my relatives and I was upset that I was still crying when I woke up from my dream and my heart was so heavy.

15 weeks of pregnancy

Yes, I'm 15 weeks of my pregnancy today and I'm on my second trimester. So far, so good. I feel a lot better though my morning sickness is not that bad since I only feel nauseous every now but thank God I never experience vomiting and dizziness. Hopefully, it would stay this way until I give birth. I had a friend who told me that she started vomiting during her second trimester at 4 months of pregnancy. I hope, I won't feel that way. By the way, my friend is having a baby boy. They say that if you have a bad morning sickness during your entire pregnancy you will have a baby girl but I don't know if that is really true because I have a sister-in-law she had been vomiting and had a bad morning sickness in all of her three pregnancies and she had 3 boys but never experience any of those bad feelings when she was pregnant with her baby girl. On the other hand, I have a friend who had a very hard time during her entire pregnancy and she had a baby girl now. But hubby was already convince that I will have a baby boy because I asked my mother what she think of the baby's gender and she said it's going to be a boy and mama has a cursing tongue, whatever she says it's going to happen. So hubby already set his mind that it's a boy because mama said so and besides hubby want our baby to be a boy. Ha,ha, well let's see if mama's cursing tongue is still effective since I am here in the US and most Americans don't believe in superstitions.

Baby Slings

Hubby keeps telling me even before that getting pregnant and having a baby would change my whole life. It’s not that he was trying to scare me but he was just letting me know how it’s going to be when a baby comes in our lives. He knew all of these for a fact because he was first married before and had children. I told him, I know it’s not easy raising a baby that’s why I told him I just want to have at least one baby. Although being a first time mom won’t be easy but I know it’s fulfilling. Well, I guess with today’s advance technology and innovations there are a lot of ways to help mommies ease the burden and make them more comfortable in taking care of their babies. I remember when my brother was born, I help take care of him and oh it’s so tiring because when you have to carry him, you do it with your arms and at the end of the day your arms and shoulders are already in so much pain.

Well, today they created baby carriers that will help support arms and shoulders for ease and comfort to babies and mommies as well. If you are looking for stylish baby carriers Baby Sling has all the wide selections you need when it comes to baby slings, carriers and wraps. I check them online and I like the moby wrap which gives maximum support and comfort to mommies and babies. I’m surely going to get one of these when I have the baby.

Bigger tummy

As weeks go by, I can tell that my tummy is getting bigger and bigger. Hubby keeps teasing me at how my tummy looks like right now. I gained weight too, right now I am at 98.2 lbs. I used to be less than 90 lbs before I get pregnant. I am at 14 weeks and 7 days of pregnancy today. Each week that passes by I am getting more and more excited. My next prenatal appointment will be on the 19th of this month and my OB-GYN said to take a VHS tape with us so he could record the baby and it's movement as he does abdominal ultrasound on me.

Here's how my tummy looked like when hubby took this photo during my 13 weeks or exactly 3 months of pregnancy.

Bathroom remodeling

Remodeling the bathroom is not easy since hubby is not a professional when it comes to plumbing but as he started working on the project he had learned a lot and was able to figure things out when it comes to fixing things. I am learning the same way too, one thing I found out living here in the US is that you have to learn to do everything by yourself because it cost too much if you hire somebody to do things for you especially fixing things in the house like plumbing, lighting, and others. I’m glad that hubby loves fixing things in the house. He treats it like a project to do and he learns things easily and figures out things quickly.

So, we have a new toilet in the bathroom downstairs now. The next thing he will work on will be installing the bath tub, then painting the walls and putting new tiles on the floor. We also need to put on new lighting fixtures in the bathroom to really make it look good. I like the bath collection lights by george kovacs lighting which are available at farreys.com an online store where you can find all your lighting needs such as fine art lamps, forecast lighting and many more. Farrey’s has a wide selection of lighting fixtures in many different styles and brands to choose from in prices you can afford.

Busy on hubby's days' off

Hubby had spent his four days off remodeling the bathroom downstairs. He is doing it by himself and me as her side kick. We are planning to install a bathtub just like what we have upstairs since it only has a shower. We also put a brand new toilet because it really needs one. This house that hubby bought has been built in the 1950's so everything is very old and needs to be replaced. If we could have the money, we would want the whole house remodel but for now we will just do it one at a time.
Though we haven't done putting up the bath tub yet but at least we already put the new toilet and it has been working great. The children has to go up stairs to take their showers for the meantime.

A year without watching TV

It’s been a year that we disconnected our cable TV subscription. I have missed watching my favorite TV shows and since then I have never watched any local TV programs. Although, it wasn’t a big deal for me when hubby suggested if we could cut our cable subscriptions since we don’t watch TV most of the time especially that he works all day and even when he gets off from work he spends more time on his computer browsing the internet and watching funny clips at Youtube. I’m also not fond of watching TV and I only watch when hubby is around and like hubby I spend more time doing the internet than watching television. I knew a lot of Pinay friends who loved to watch soap operas and other TV shows.

Sometimes, I also thought about maybe it would be nice to have the cable back so I could watch my favorite TV shows again but maybe not with the same cable company that we subscribed before but it’s hard to decide which one’s to choose. I heard that My TV Options is a good website to start with to help you decide what TV options you would like to get the best features in your program preferences whether cable, direct tv or dish tv. I just check the site and tried to type in my zip code and it showed that Direct TV is the most suitable choice for my area and for my needs. Isn’t that cool? So, if you have a hard time choosing between cable, directtv or dish tv as your provider check My TV Options now!

Happy New Year!

I can't believe 2008 has ended and today another year has begun. Wow! time flies by so fast. The month of January has always been a great month to me since year 2007 because this is the month that me and hubby got married and this is the month that I first came here in the U.S. It's going to be my two years of marriage and two years of being here with hubby. Things are doing great for me and hubby. 2008 has been a great year for me too, it's the year when I first got my regular driver's license, I was able to take my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class for free and passed my CNA certification examination too and the best part that ever happened in 2008 was I got pregnant again and hoping to continue to have a successful pregnancy and delivery in July 2009.

Hubby and I are looking forward to have a great and successful 2009. Hoping that everything will turn out good and be a better year in all aspects of our marriage life. Have a wonderful and prosperous NEW YEAR Everyone!
